Perhaps the most promising mid season comedy replacement premieres this week on ABC called Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23. The show centres on June (Dreama Walker, Gossip Girl) who moves to New York in pursuit of her dream job. When she discovers the job no longer exists she is forced to move in with a con artist named Chloe (Krysten Ritter, perhaps best known to television audiences from roles on Breaking Bad and Veronica Mars). Dawson himself James Van Der Beek also stars as a fictionalised version of himself on the show as a friend of Chloe. Out of every new comedy thats recently had a go around (Bent, Best Friends Forever) this show has had some genuine positive buzz and has the best chance at a second season. Time will tell if audiences embrace it, but it doesn’t have a lot of time to prove itself as only five episodes have been produced. Apartment 23 airs on ABC on Wednesdays.
Ever thought back on the days of Party of Five and wondered whatever happened to fresh faced Jennifer Love Hewitt? Ahh, the 90′s were so good to her. Well, she’s back and I’m guessing not in a big way in Client List the new original series from Lifetime that is based on the 2010 television movie that she also starred in. In the series she stars as Riley Parks, a single mother under financial strain who gets a job at a massage parlour. It’s not long after she starts working there that she realises the parlour has a client list of men who expect ‘extras’ – yeah, you know what I’m talking about. Basically, if I’m not misunderstood the show is a wonderful outlet for Hewitt to get naked (or as naked as Lifetime will allow), so I’m sure it will at least gain some traction with males. Client List airs in the US on Sundays.
If you are a fan of the CBS Monday comedy line up of How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Two and A Half Men and Mike and Molly, they are back in original episodes this week after being in repeat mode for the last month. Elsewhere in finale news of the week, catch the end of the seasons of critically acclaimed drama series Justified on FX, USA dramedy Psych, and Up All Night the Christina Applegate and Will Arnett comedy on NBC.
